About the Project
“Rainbow Jyoyara” ~ “Bountiful Coast” theme mural for National Arts Festival Oita 2018 in Saiki-City.Since 1946, the Agency for Cultural Affairs (ACA) National Arts Festival has been held every autumn with the aims of enabling a wide segment of the public to enjoy outstanding works of art from Japan and abroad, encouraging artistic creativity, and advancing the arts.
Yasuyuki Sakura & Toshie Yoshioka were commissioned by Saiki-City to create a mural for the festival. This “Rainbow Jyoyara” mural was made with 250 Saiki residents. The process of the making is detailed in this BLOG section of the official project webpage http://tsap.biz/mural2018/?page_id=3844.
